Ben and George Design Progress

Here are some first design sheets for Ben and George that I have been working on. They're pretty loose and are in the style of my more recent drawings, which is helping me loosen up and experiment a little more. They are only ruff and colourless right now as I'm just playing with Ideas. However, I'm pretty set on both Ben and George having big afros as distinctive features or characteristics.

The above sketches was the starting point the ones below. I began by trying to created interesting shaped heads some not necessarily for the characters but just to exercise the idea.

With the sketches of ben below, I've focused a bit more on creating a drawing structure that could help me draw the characters from different angles with different expression whilst keep them looking the same. This should ultimately help me animate them.

 I've turned some of the drawing from the expression sheets into colour drawings as these are the ones I'm most happy with so far. Although the squiggly hair looks good, its not going to do me any favours when animating so I'm no doubt going to have to simplify the hair for George a bit like I have for Ben.
